There’s nothing better than a great flashlight. It’s a giant bonus if its EDC-sized and powerful. That, in a nutshell, is the new Galco Everyday Carry Flashlight!
If you know me, you already know two things: 1)I have a thing for flashlights, and 2) that Galco Holsters is my go-to brand when it comes to holsters. When I got the opportunity to review the new Galco Everyday Carry Flashlight, I jumped at the chance.
What it is: A Galco-branded Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA. If you’re not familiar with Streamlight’s brand, they’re one of the best, most durable and well-respected flashlight manufacturers in their industry.
A “dual fuel” flashlight, Galco’s ships with both batteries and a nylon holster.
Why I love it: Touted as a “dual fuel” flashlight, you have options to make it run. It will work off a single CR123A or AA battery. Either battery will give you light, but here’s how they break down:
CR123A lithium battery output:
- High – best for bright light: 350 lumens; 160m beam; run time: 1.5 hours
- Low – best for longer run time: 40 lumens; 53m beam; run time: 14 hours
- Strobe – best for signaling or disorienting: run times: 3 hours
AA alkaline/lithium battery output:
- High – best for bright light: 150 lumens; 105m beam, run time: 1.3 hours (alkaline), 4.25 hours (lithium)
- Low – best for longer run time: 40 lumens; 53m beam, run time: 7.5 hours (alkaline), 14 hours (lithium)
- Strobe – best for signaling or disorienting: run time: 3.5 hours (alkaline), 8 hours (lithium)
Making it convenient, Galco’s Everyday Carry Flashlight ships with both types of batteries so the choice is yours right out of the package. Also included in the packaging is a nylon belt holster.
